Dr. Isabel Figuerola-Ferretti is a professor in Finance at ICADE, Universidad Pontificiade Comillas (Madrid), where she teaches courses in Finance and leads the Quantitative Finance and Sustainability Research Group. Dr. Figuerola-Ferretti is also a member of the Ph.D. committee of the doctoral program CETIS (Corporate Innovation and Sustainability). She has been actively contributing to finance research over the years, publishing work in the Journal of Econometrics, the Journal of Futures Markets, Energy Economics and the Journal of Empirical Finance among others. She holds a Research Excellence Price for a seminal paper on commodity price discovery. Her other research interests include green finance and sustainability, financial bubbles, portfolio management, and volatility.
She has worked as an Assistant Professor in the Business Department at Carlos III University (Madrid). Prior to that she was Lecturer in the Economics Department in Queen Mary, University of London where she obtained a Ph.D. in Financial Economics. Dr. Figuerola-Ferretti is an International Research Associate of the Research Center of Energy Management (ESCP Europe); is also a member of the Editorial Board of the Journal of Futures Markets; and is also a member of the Editorial Advisory Board of the Global Commodities Applied Research Digest (GCARD), publication of the J.P Morgan Center for Commodities, University of Colorado Denver Business School.
